Batman!

Tyler has been so hilarious lately. I found a cape that my mom had made of Batman and Superman in the boys closet Tyler got a hold of it and has not wanted to take that off for the last couple of days. He went downstairs and found a mask to go with it. Here are some pictures we were able to get today!

We had a great Halloween, but for some reason, I have not pictures! Seriously what kind of a mom am I?? Jake was The Hulk and Tyler was Black Spiderman. They had a blast and their favorite part was passing out candy to the trick or treaters that came to the door. They would fight over who got to answer the door, which worked out great for us (haha!). We are now getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas, can't wait!

Disneyland

We had such a fun summer, I'm sad to see it end. So I thought I would post some of our favorite memories. With the boys getting older there are so many more things we can go and do. Our summer started a little early with a trip to Disneyland. I love that place. The boys had such a good time and were such troopers with all the walking we did.

Here is Tyler on the plane ride, I was a little nervous about flying with the kids, but they were awesome. Thanks goodness to Jet Blue for adding tv's to every seat!
Jake was listening to the tv, he was probably the most excited. Shannon took him up to the cockpit and he got to meet the pilots, he is so social, it cracks me up.

These are just a few highlights of the trip. Grandma and Grandpa Cottis were able to go with us. I think they had a good time. I know the boys sure were glad they were there. Jake's favorite part of the trip was being able to be a "Jedi in Training." They had shows a couple of times a day and would pick kids from the crowd to go up and "fight" Darth Vader and Darth Maul. I cannot believe how well Disney does at these things. Jake was one of the lucky ones and got to go up. He was so cute, I'm glad it worked out. Tyler was my little thrill seeker. He loved all the roller coasters, ecspecially Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It was so much fun. I'm thankful we were able to go and make some memories. It will definitely be an every couple of years trip. Thanks Babe for working so hard so we could enjoy a family break.

Here Goes Nothing

Okay, so I haven't exactly been on the ball lately, well since last October, but I am going to try. I've realized that so much happens and I am not keeping track of anything, what a loser. So my goal is to at lease get a few things down so I don't forget those little moments. Now that summer is almost to a close I look back and we had a great time. We bit the bullet and bought a boat last spring. It has been a blast. The boys enjoyed it more than I thought they would, ecspecially Ty, he is my little fish. Shannon has loved wakeboarding and of course I just love the sun, I'm sure I'll pay for that one in a few more years. Still working and trying to make it through each week, Shannon is now working days so it has been nice to have him home at night. Jake has started 1st grade, I thought the day would never come. I think he enjoys it, although he still thinks that he can play 24/7, he's not too hip on the homework and early bedtimes (how would that be!). Tyler is still big and stocky, but such a snuggler. He has been going to a preschool/daycare for three days a week. He has his good days and his bad days, the other night he said "Mommy do I have school tomorrow?", I said "Yes you do" and his response was "No you say I don't have school tomorrow." My poor baby, sometimes I feel like the worst mom, but he is learning to get along with other kids and his alphabet and counting his numbers, so on the whole it is probably a good experience for him. Shannon has taken over as the PIO for his department (Public Information Officer) so he may be on the news, keep your eyes open for him (like his ego needs a boost). :) Well my plan for next post will be with pictures, I used to consider myself somewhat computer savy, but I have fallen way behind the curve this time. Cheers for now!

October Fun!

Welcome to the Bennett Family Blog! Its been an amazing year. Oh, how time flies! I can't believe it's almost 2008.
Our family has grown in so many ways and we have been having so much fun. Just last week we went to a pumpkin patch, near The District, and let the boys run around for awhile. It was really cool because they had a tractor graveyard there and the boys loved it (especially Shannon).
The people there were practically giving the pumkins away which worked out nice! Jake had a lot of fun carving his pumkin that night. I don't think Tyler cared for it to much.

Jake is almost six and is thriving in school. Tyler will be three in a few months. Tyler and Jake are exact opposites of each other but still have that brotherly love (they fight). Tyler is going to be a line man and Jake is going to be our baseball player. They both love to wrestle (fight) and are finally getting use to each other.
Jake is a daddy's boy and Tyler loves his mommy. Jake will most likely take after his dad, and Tyler...well we're still not sure (pro-wrestler or something). They both love the snow and when it snowed the other day, the boys took full advantage. Jake got his workout pulling Tyler around!

I'm still working part-time and life couldn't be busier! Shannon is working as a fraud investigator. Shannon and his brother started a construction company, which is awesome!
Needless to say we have been very busy lately! We still make time for the fam. and love to spend time with each other. We hope all of you are doing well and look forward to seeing your blogs!
Love
